Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati promotional looks are a big NO

Deepika Padukone’s a major fashion icon and it comes across as no surprise. The gorgeous actress who completed ten years in the industry recently has already created a strong place for herself and her craft. Deepika was soon to be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project, Padmavati, but due to unfortunate turn of events the movie has now been postponed. However, before the unfolding of all this drama, Deepika had begun her promotions for the movie and as much as we love her for the bold and strong woman that she is, we are not quite sure if her clothes did any justice to the ravishing beauty that she possesses. Deepika’s promotional looks were majorly off, unflattering and an experiment gone wrong.

Deepika Padukone in Prabal Gurung

We like everything that she is wearing but as individual pieces and all of them put together make for a very unappealing combination. In spite of the one shoulder bouffant sleeve top, the high waisted pants and the broad corset belt raging the fashion scenes, this one however, is a complete drab and the silver pointy toe stilettos are a big NO.

We love the simplicity of this look and probably why this is the only saving grace from all of her looks. Her makeup and hair both compliment her saree giving her a modern appeal but the neckpiece is clashing with the earrings as both of them are chunky pieces and we wish she had only opted for either one.

This look has to be our least favourite as the outfit is wrong at so many levels. The silhouette of the outfit looks extremely confusing and uncomfortable. The kamarbandh could have easily been avoided as there is already a lot happening on the garment in terms of the surface ornamentation and those doctor sleeves, well, the lesser spoken about it, the better.

Deepika Padukone in Sailesh Singhania

This entire look just ages Deepika two folds. The saree is in a rich bottle green colour but the motifs, the borders, isn’t really an ideal pick for a young 30 year old. The blouse is completely off from the saree and the sleeves look really awkward, while we understand that she loves her jewellery, but here she could have gone easy with her accessories as her outfit is already so heavy on the eyes.  

Deepika Padukone is the epitome of grace and can pull off an any outfit with elan but we think that she should definitely be rethinking about the choices of the outfits that she has been wearing lately as it is heavily pulling her down. What do you think?
