Bride Anushka Sharma’s hairstylist Gabriel Georgiou describes in detail how she wanted her wedding looks
Anushka Sharma’s hairstylist describes how she wanted her hair to be throughout the wedding.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding took the entire nation by surprise. The dreamy affair looked like a piece right out of a fairytale. It was surreal, alluring and aesthetically magical looking.
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on the 11th December in Tuscany, Italy. Anushka’s bridal look has been widely appreciated and applauded as it was a beautiful amalgamation of a traditional and modern bride. Her makeup, however, stood out as the beautiful bride opted for a minimal and nude makeup with simple hairdos all throughout. Celebrity hairstylist, Gabriel Georgiou the genius behind Anushka’s stunning hairstyles, in an interview with a leading magazine revealed everything that went behind in creating her wedding looks.
How did Anushka want her hair to look all throughout the wedding ceremonies?
For her wedding rituals, Anushka wanted a look which was both minimal yet sophisticated. We went easy with her hair when it was open and when it was tied up, we decided to keep it extremely elegant and set so that it lasts for the entire day/night.
Sabyasachi designed the outfits for her entire wedding, how was it to work with him and how did you’ll decide all the looks?
Deciding her look started off with her wedding day look as it helped in putting all the looks together including the accessories, hair and makeup. The idea was to make her look like an Indian princess, looking beautiful in pastels right out of a fairytale with a modern twist to it. The way all those pastel flowers were placed made the entire look, all the more ethereal.
How much time did it take for you to put all the looks together?
It did not take us much time at all. The wedding day look obviously took the longest as everything was supposed to be perfect and even then, we took just about a couple of hours. Anushka has to be the calmest bride that I have ever worked with.
Were there any last minute changes or did it go all as planned?
Fortunately, everything went as planned.
How difficult was it to make sure that the flowers stayed fresh throughout the event?
It was not difficult at all. The flowers were pinned really well on the bun which helped the flowers stay fresh throughout in spite of the dupatta pressing on them.
When working with Indian brides, what are the key points that you keep in mind since they wear those heavy traditional pieces like hair accessories, dupatta and huge earrings?
I think the key to getting the perfect bridal hair is to place the hair accessories and dupatta perfectly so that it doesn’t move and stays flawless throughout the event.
Indian brides usually have their hair up in a bun owing to the dupatta and hair accessories, how do you manage to keep the style looking new and unique each time?
I believe that adding personal touches helps in creating individuality to each look and adding to that are the overall aesthetics. I am not a fan of hair that looks like it is borrowed from an 80s prom. Your hair needs to look refined, graceful, irrespective of the hairstyle you choose to adorn.
We are still in awe of Anushka’s simple yet refreshing looks from her wedding affair, Comment and let us know what do you guys have to say about it?
