The legends of Oscars Red Carpet: Here is a look at the best dressed from the previous Academy Awards
The Oscars are one of the most respected and coveted events in the film fraternity. Every filmmaker, actor and artist dream of holding the golden lady in their arms. Every fashionista however only dreams of walking down the red carpet in fancy colours.Â
Each year the Oscars are not short of glamour as Hollywood's finest walk the red carpet in the fashion world's most beautiful gowns.
Here is an amalgamation of Hollywood's best dressed A-list lineup on the red carpet at the Academy Awards:Â
2016:Â
Priyanka Chopra:
The moment we all had been waiting for- Priyanka Chopra walking down the red carpet at the Oscars and oh, she did us proud and how! She chose to wear a sheer white beaded and embellished gown by Zuhair Murad for her big Oscars night. Her white strapless sweetheart neckline gown with a metal band was styled with a low ponytail, drop earrings and a red lip.
Saoirse Ronan:
Saoirse Ronan took quite the dramatic plunge with her style as she wore this Irish green sequin number and oh, she nailed it and how. She wore her revealing custom Calvin sequins in Irish green with all the confidence and pride of a star. Her mismatched earrings from Chopard were another nice touch.

Brie Larson:
Talk about statement belts! Belts are risky for the evening, particularly in welterweight size. Even more so when you combine one with a ruffling lap blue dress. But somehow Larson pulls them together charmingly in this custom Gucci organza number doused with plissé. The belt is covered in navy velvet and embroidered with black crystal and pearls, by the way.

2015:Â
Lady Gaga:
Making news is always an Oscars do, and Gaga sure did make heads turn. Dressed in a beautiful structured Azzedine Alaia gown, she added a domestic goddess touch with her kitchen gloves, that made us all go "whaaaaaat". But none the less the outfit was a stunner!Â

Gwyneth Paltrow:
Waring a Ralph Russo Couture dress, Gwyneth Paltrow looked one part sweet and one part daring (with a cheeky reference to Carrie Bradshaw, no less), Paltrow looked absolutely stunning in this look. Wearing ruby and daimond teardrop earrings the look was perfect!Â

Rosamund Pike:
Doing a crimson lace number with a scalloped neckline and Pike will certainly always be most remembered for her flawless crimson lace Givenchy moment.Â

Angelina Jolie:
Jolie shimmered in an Elie Saab Haute Couture number as she walked down the red carpet, she paired the look with beautiful daimond earrings by Robert Procop.

Kate Hudson:
Doing the cape trend in 2014 Kate Hudson looked flawless in Atelier Versace. Wearing a slashing neckline gown with a cowl back and a flowy hem she perfectly paired the look with daimond jewellery and an ivory clutch.Â

Jennifer Lawrence:
Working a classic red gown, Jennifer Lawrence looked like a crimson goddess in Dior Haute Couture gown. It was a strapless gown with a peplum detail around the waist. She walked down the red carpet at the Oscars. She completed the look with Neil Lane jewellery and Salvatore Ferragamo bag.Â

2012 and 2013:Â
Alicia Vikander:Â
Alicia Vikander continued her impressive run on the red carpet when she attended the 2013 Oscars. The Swedish actress wore an exquisite Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown.

Angelina Jolie:
Angelina Jolie's thigh-high slit strapless black gown that she wore to the Oscars red carpet in 2012 went down in history. Dressed in an Atelier Versace gown paired with custom Salvatore Ferragamo pumps, and Neil Lane jewellery, Angelina created history.Â

Jenifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz:Â
Jennifer Lopez's silvery, long-sleeve, cold-shoulder gown by Zuhair Murad got noticed on the red carpet and made a lot of news for being "too sheer". The dress got, even more, attention onstage as she and Cameron Diaz- who was wearing a pale shimmery gown by Gucci, much like Jlo's presented the award for Best Costume Design and in doing so, demonstrated just how important good design can be.

Meryl Streep:
Dressed like the Oscars herself, Meryl Streep made a statement in a golden sequin number by Lanvin. Paired with a clutch, Salvatore Ferragamo sandals, and Fred Leighton jewellery she looked absolutely stunning.Â
These were our best dressed from the past! We cannot wait to see who-wears-what, this season of Oscars. The Oscars are happening on Sunday, 26th February 2017, come back to Pinkvilla for more updates on the event and the best and worst dressed of Oscars 2017.Â
