Pinkvilla Fashion Awards: Deepika, Katrina, Kareena, Priyanka and Kangana - Check out the best and worst dressed of 2016!

They say, "Dress like you are already famous'', but for the ones who are already famous and have eyes on them at all times, always make sure that they put their best foot forward. Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak and our Bollywood celebrities have said plenty. From "I am sexy and fierce" to "subdued and playing it safe" they said it all and we have bought all of this to you all throughout the year on Pinkvilla.

Now here's an amalgamation of the best and worst look our very own Bollywood celebrities were seen wearing this year. Fashion is art and you are the canvas! Here are the best and worst paintings of 2016.

 

1. Best Red Carpet moment 

Priyanka Chopra is already ruling the world, but we are thankful to her for putting the Indian woman's instinctive style sensibilities on the world map!  Yes, for us the best red carpet appearance of the year is ought to be PeeCee's red carpet look at the Oscars. Chopra chose to wear a sheer white beaded and embellished gown by Zuhair Murad for her big Oscars night. Her white strapless sweetheart neckline gown with a metal band was styled with a low ponytail, drop earrings, and a red lip. She did us proud! 

2. Worst Red Carpet look 

Deepika Padukone made an appearance at an event in an embellished layered kurta that was paired with floral velvet wide-legged pants, the entire look was pretty dull and did not quite suit her personality. What made us cringe THE MOST was the fur collar she added with her attire. 

To make things worse she wore LOUD-LOUD makeup! With a body and face like that Deepika could manage to still look good, rest of you DO NOT TRY THIS STUNT AT HOME!! 

3. Best Airport Look 

Like Alia Bhatt said on a popular TV show, "she has many lovely airport looks but where is she landing?'' Yes! The best airport look female is ought to be Kangana's airport styles.

This was probably the hardest category to pick from since there were so many lovely looks she has sported but this powerful look is probably our favorite. Dressed in Gucci separates, Kangana was photographed as she exited Mumbai airport. Wearing her hair up, the actor finished out the look with black accessories that included the requisite movie-star shades, a Gucci belt, pair of classic pumps and Bulgari bag. There are no two ways about it, Ms. Ranaut worked that look head-to-toe! 

4. Worst Airport Look 

Speaking of Alia's comment on Kangana's airport looks, we understand that while traveling, comfort is key, but Alia Bhatt's outfit was more of a blunder and less of a comfort style. We are guessing the actress was trying to make a statement with her velvet wide legged pants and oversize tee, but that look with that long jacket and sneakers a BIG NO-NO. 

5. Best Street Style Spotting 

The winner of this category is ought to be Jacqueline Fernandez, on the streets of New York as she attended NYFW. Though she played safe and the look and was pretty basic, we loved how she faked a later with her jacket falling off the shoulder and the knee high boots were the perfect addition! 

6. Best Desi Look

We all know that dupattas became passe' in 2016. 2016 was the era of capes and Deepika nailed the trend in her IIFA 2016 green carpet look. The actor paired her ivory Sabyasachi with stunning emeralds from Tanishq and rings from Anmol. A teased ponytail and dramatic smokey eyes helped finish out the look. A look that was right up Ms. Padukone’s wheelhouse; she looked great!

7. Biggest Fashion Faceoff 

Speaking of the IIFA's let us move on to the biggest Fashion Faceoff of the year! It is got to be the RED HOT! (Pun Intended) Faceoff between Deepika, Priyanka, and Katrina. As Priyanka Chopra sashayed down the red carpet at the Emmys, we could not help but spot the striking similarity, this dusky beauty's waist cutout, red gown, had with gowns previously worn by Katrina and Deepika on other red carpets.

8. Most Fashionable Movie 

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a visual delight for people who love fashion. They say Bollywood is the biggest fashion influence and ADHM shows us why!

9. Best Beauty Look 

When a gorgeous face like Sonam Kapoor and the Makeup Magician Namrata Soni come together, the result is bound to marvelous! This is one category where we just could not pick one favorite beauty look of her's so here are two in no particular order of preference. 

The first one being this super cool, summery look she donned at the Cannes film festival. Namrata lined her upper lid with bright and poppy pink on top and a yellow in the inner corner! She achieved this look using a lip liner, YES! Lip liner I mean that is REVOLUTIONARY. 

The second look we loved is where she looked like Jasmine straight out of the movie Aladdin, with her golden eye makeup and intricate hairdo she looks gorgeous! 

10. Worst Beauty Look

While, Sonam plays around with her makeup, Katrina Kaif is one actress who plays it safe - her hair is always the same and so is her makeup! There no particular look of her's that is bad but her hair and makeup just always is a snooze fest. 

11. Best Onscreen Outfit 

Alizeh aka Anushka Sharma in the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had the most unique, innovative and kickass styles. Her look is in true sense contemporary.

12. Worst Onscreen Outfit

Now, here is another category where we just couldn't boil down to one and hence we pick an entire movie, Rock On 2. Barring Arjun Rampal, the entire look was rather shabby.

13. Best Promotional Style 

Sonakshi Sinha, when promoting Force 2, had her style game on fleek, she suddenly emerged as ''the'' fashionista with her outfits during the promotions, it sure was a pleasant surprise. From minimalistic-chic midi dresses to bodycon dresses or tiny mini skirts worn with choker style body suits, all of her looks were loved. 

14. Best Magazine Cover 

Here is another category, for which we had a hard time picking a winner, the creative masterminds working in the fashion industry gave us some really imaginative and ingenious magazine covers this year. However, our favorite is ought to be the Bazaar Bride cover with (then) Mommy to be Kareena Kapoor Khan posing with hubby Saif Ali Khan. Kareena Kapoor Khan immortalized her glorious pregnancy in this cover shoot! 

15. Biggest Trendsetter

While all the A-lister Bollywood actresses and star wives when pregnant obscure themselves into oblivion and then post delivery, workout day and night and the make a "so-called" come back after they have lost all the baby weight. 

But, Queen Kareena Kapoor Khan, walked out in elegance, flair, and style as she posed for paparazzi, did magazine shoots, TV advertisements and rocked that baby bump and pregnancy glow like a boss!

We all know that maternity dressing is no easy task, especially if you are a celebrity getting snapped all the time, Kareena Kapoor Khan is probably the only actress in Bollywood who rocked her pregnancy and baby bump like a boss! 

What is even better is that the actress really stayed true to her signature style. She left no leaves unturned from Indian couture pieces to risqué high slit gowns, Kareena has done a really good job of looking chic.
