2016 has been, shall we say, rough in many respects. But if there was one arena that celebrated a banner year, it would be the world of fashion. After all, this is the year that brought us the chicest looking movies. From Katrina in Baar Baar Dekho to 60's fashion in Rustom we've seen it all!
In case you missed them and you are one of those who loves spotting styles in a movie, here's a list of the top 10 most stylish movies on the silver screen in 2016:
1. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a visual delight for people who love fashion. They say Bollywood is the biggest fashion influence in India and ADHM shows us why! Anushka's style is in true sense - contemporary. We love how Ranbir's look evolves as his character matures, from wearing really cool joggers with T-shirts worn with, jackets to hoodies along with kick ass sneakers, he wore it all. Aishwarya looked stunning in the movie and it was hard to keep our eyes off her! She wore basic ripped jeans with t-shirts and fancy overcoats that had elaborate prints and fur and it looked marvelous!
2. Befikre

Just like Paris is basic and classic, Befikre's style too captures the essence of the city in which it has been shot. The whole style of the movie is true to its characters and actors. Be it Vaani's daring, who-cares attitude or Ranveer's childish and quirky character. Their personalities are clearly reflected in the way they dress.
3. Dear Zindagi

Young, fresh, relatable, boho-chic and easy, here are some adjectives to describe the looks in the movie. Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a chiller therapist and he was seen in either ripped jeans & cargo pants with henleys or faded shirts and tees. Alia's style is a very real girl look, it's something you and me would want wear or actually do wear cause let's face it not all of us can go out with friends in a Chanel jacket and Celine bag.
4. Rustom

The film is set in the late 50's and early 60's when India had just got independence and the British culture had not quite left the nation and it was clearly reflected in the way people dressed.
The era of the late 50's and early 60's will remind you of men in suits and pants and women in their elaborate saris and poofy dresses.
Hair was shorter and hems were longer. Sweetheart and Bardot necklines, which have had a major revival, were a hot and new trend back then. The movie very subtly and perfectly captures the styles of that era in a way that it can be worn today as well.
5. Baar Baar Dekho

Katrina's styling is oh-so-refreshing in this movie. She has donned different hairdos and changed her looks pretty often. As the cast is traveling in time, they have tried to show drastic changes by incorporating them in her hair styles. Since Sidharth plays the role of a mathematics professor in the movie, his style is very dapper. The movie starts off with Sidharth as a clean-shaven teenager in basic jeans and T-shirts. His style gets more mature and old school as he transcends into adulthood. He is seen wearing checked shirts with rolled up sleeves, waistcoats, and broad ties.
6. Fitoor

While Katrina's hair was the talk of the town when Fitoor released, so was Katrina's new fit body and her sexy-yet-subtle style. From sexy dresses, flowy maxi's and layered desi looks, her look was on point.
7. Ki & Ka

Kareena Kapoor Khan took power dressing to another level in the movie Ki & Ka. With her tapered trousers, fitted jeans, shirts, and pencil skirts with fancy blouses and blazer, Kareena's character served as some serious style inspiration to every woman working in the corporate world.
8. Kapoor & Sons

Not only did Kapoor & Sons win many hearts it also won some space in every fashionista's closet. From Alia's cute tops paired with ripped jeans to Siddarth Malhotra and Fawad Khan's contrasting looks this movie had it's style game on point.
9. Tum Bin 2

Tum Bin 2 is a beautiful romantic musical where everything from actors to the locations and of course the CLOTHES are beautiful. What's really cool is how distinctively each character is dressed.
10. Housefull 3

When three three real life fashionistas, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri, come together for a film, their reel style is certainly going to be something to look forward to. From short dresses, skater skirts paired with the crop top to fancy gowns and their wedding. their looks a delight to watch onscreen. While the girls did well, the boys were also not too far behind. Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Ritesh Deshmukh wore some remarkably good clothes.
