Sex and the City - Favorite outfits?
Sex and The City - Carrie-d away!!
Of course, we went to see the movie, what did you expect? And even though we were trying to manage our own expectations (didn’t want to be disappointed), we kinda, sorta liked it. Ok, ok we loved it and cant wait to see it again!!
Now the storyline and everything was good, (we know a lot of you haven’t seen it as yet, so no spoilers here), but the clothes, handbags, and shoes (wow!! Those shoesssssssssss were something!!) were a literal feast. All four girls continued to dress true to their character. Charlotte, the prim and propah girl, wore dresses that were a bit blah, but oh so wearable, Samantha stuck on with her 80’s themed oufits – neon colors and leopard prints , Miranda did much better than in the series (in fact, we really dig her career-woman look), but in the end it was Carrie (rather her wardrobe) for whom our heart beats.
Sarah Jessica Parker, looked really cool (not the 20’s cool, but the 40’s cool), which in itself is pretty amazing, and wore the most awesome clothes and shoes. Our favorite of course are the blue satin Manolos which are in a way the centre point of the movie. Sooo gorgeous, and so coveted. They were made especially for the movie and will be available for $885 at the store in NYC soon. Any interest?? (We’ll just wait for a cheaper version to become available somewhere, trust us, they are coming!!)
We loved the turquoise blue dress Carrie wears at the baby shower, just beautiful!! And that fierce studded black belt (worn often), and the black heels (Gucci?), the list goes on and on. She continues to be quite the fashion plate!
On the wacky side, we were very amused by Samantha and Boyfriend’s matching sequined gowns, very funny!! And what’s up with the brazen display of bra straps in backless dresses, we are still figuring that one out!! And the pearl string, in bed and everywhere else!!! Kinda wacky, kinda cool!!!
The movie isn’t as witty as the series itself, but fashion wise we weren’t disappointed!! And as a very good girlfriend said, it reminded us of the value of girlfriends in life – cheers to all our girlfriends!! We love you all!!Lets hear from you - Which was your favorite outfit in the movie??
