Smoking tobacco can take a toll on your body. It is one addiction that has a major impact on your health and your body. Smoking brings along with it the risk of many chronic illnesses like high blood pressure, cancer, etc. It also puts you at the risk of heart diseases. A single cigarette contains a number of chemicals which are released into your body when you inhale the smoke or when you smoke a cigarette. All of these chemicals impact your organs and your health.

Other than your internal organs, smoking can also have a deep impact on your skin and hair and your teeth. Smoking can weaken your hair and decrease the volume of your hair. It also could be the reason behind your thinning hair. It weakens your hair and makes them brittle. Smoking can stain your teeth and turn them yellow. It can also make your nails weak and brittle. But the biggest impact it has is on your skin. Smoking can cause premature aging and wrinkles on your skin. It can also damage your skin and cause it to sag especially your breasts and thighs and arms. Smoking can stain your skin and lead to an uneven skin tone as well.

When you quit smoking, it has a major impact on your skin and helps overturn the impact of smoking. The premature aging of your skin cannot be reversed but it can get better. When you quit, your skin starts to tighten up a little and becomes healthy. Smoking can dehydrate your skin which causes this and quitting helps turn your skin healthy and glowing. Smoking also hampers the production of collagen which is returned back to normal once you quit smoking. Smoking can put you at the risk of developing different kinds of skin problems but quitting tobacco reduces the risk.

Once you quit smoking the blood flow or rather the blood circulation in your body gets better and this allows your skin to absorb more nutrients. The staining caused due to smoking can be reversed but most of the major damage done to your skin cannot be undone. So, if you are a smoker it would be a great idea to quit at the earliest in order to reduce the damage to your skin. Quitting can make it brighter and healthier but you cannot ever get back the skin you had before you started smoking.
