It may or may not be love at first spritz, but your scent is what people remember you for. Here are some tips on how to find your signature scent to smell great at all times!
Finding that one scent you can reach for and never get tired of, that has a sense of instant comfort associated with it. But finding that signature scent can be overwhelming and daunting. The variety is just too much to handle. But truth be told, choosing the right fragrance for yourself (or gifting for others) is all about personality and preference. Nobody knows what is right for you, more than you.
Get the basics right.
The French words Eau de Perfume means it has the highest concentration of the essence, and is the most expensive and lasts for long periods.
Eau de Parfum is a step down from that with lesser essence.
Eau de Toilette is the lowest stage with the minimum essence and is more water based, the cheapest and lasts for up to 3 to 4 hours.
To pick that perfect fragrance,
Listen to your gut. Forget the fancy bottles and pretty flowers on the box when you smell the perfume first. Ask yourself if you can see yourself wearing this scent for a while, even if it came in the most normal bottle. Buying perfumes by celebrities and getting influenced by brands shouldn’t be top priority.
If you already have a signature scent and are looking for an additional one, test it for a day. Spray it on and see if it makes you feel and smell the way you want whether it is sexy, sophisticated or glamorous. But most importantly, ensure that it lasts for a long spell and boosts your confidence.
Mix and match. You may not like the scent of one individually, but once you mix it with another, it might end up smelling divine! The key to this is experimentation. Some scents like musk and floral ones don’t gel well with other scents so maybe keep away from mixing those!
