Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty line launched a new collection two days back on the 14th of September. The collection is names as the Classic Blossom Collection which includes a 10 pan eyeshadow palette in hues of pink and berry in light and dark, 8 lipsticks, 3 lip liners and 3 “firs-ever” blushes. The whole collection is inspired by pink Japanese Cherry Blossom flowering trees, featuring beautiful pink and berry hues with bronze in the shimmer department. The packaging is classic KKW nude skin coloured with no fuss. The entire collection can be bought at a bundle price of $260 while individually they are under $20 for lip products and $45 for the eyeshadow palette.

On posting the launch of a new collection, both Kim’s personal and beauty accounts were fired up with comments directing to a certain accusation of plagiarism. The KKW Classic Cherry Blossom Collection seemed to have a direct resemblance to yet another International Beauty Brand: Urban Decay. Urban Decay is the famous brand behind the creation of the Naked Palette which every beauty guru swears by. Adding to the Naked line, the brand announced a Naked Cherry palette with hues of beery pink and brown a few weeks back.

The internet fuelled the coincidence of the palettes being announced one after another as a copy cat scenario, while some said KKW copied Urban Decay, others took to reason that the announcement of the Urban Decay palette was just a few weeks ago, making it impossible for KKW to design and produce an entire collection in a mere 2-3 week time span. To put rumours to rest, Teen Vogue said “ Kim also pointed out in her Instagram post that the baby shower she had thrown herself for Chicago West was cherry blossom themed — and that occurred in November 2017, several months before UD's Naked Cherry palette first popped up on our feeds.”

Here’s a look at both KKW and Urban Decay’s collection:
