Shakib Al Hasan, once again proved to be the star-performer for Bangladesh as his half century and five-wicket haul helped Bangladesh beat qualifiers Afghanistan by 62 runs at the Rose Bowl, Southampton on Monday. This win meant that, Bangladesh still have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals by winning the two remaining games and hoping that few other results go by their way.

With his watch-winning efforts, Shakib Al Hasan became the second cricketer after Indian veteran Yuvraj Singh to score a fifty and take five wickets in a World Cup game. Yuvraj Singh, who was adjudged the Player of the tournament in the 2011 edition of the World Cup, achieved this feat against Ireland at Bangalore on 6th Mar 2011. Shakib also became the first all-rounder to score 400 runs and take 10 or more wickets in a World Cup game. Till date, he has amassed 476 runs and picked up 10 wickets.
