Start Up: Did you know this beloved Hotel del Luna star had an epic cameo in Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk's drama?
While it was a guessing game as to who voiced Kim Seon-ho's AI virtual assistant Jang Young-shil, we now know that it was a beloved Hotel del Luna cast member.
Start-Up, which premiered over the weekend has been garnering rave reviews by critics and fans alike, especially with how emotionally stirring its been since the get-go. For the unversed, Start-Up is about young entrepreneurs and their thirst of making it big including Suzy as Seo Dal-mi, Nam Joo-hyuk as Nam Do-san, Kim Seon-ho as Han Ji-pyung and Kang Han-na as Won In-jae.
There was one particular character that viewers were left intrigued with, especially the familiar honey voice; Ji-pyung's AI virtual assistant Jang Young-shil. While the guessing game went rampant as to whose voice it was, we now know who provided the voiceover for Young-shil; it's none other than the beloved Hotel del Luna star Yeo Jin-goo. That's right; it was the 23-year-old actor's sweet vocals that voiced the surprisingly emotional Young-shil, who provided the comedic relief by doing the opposite of whatever Ji-pyung commanded.
For example, when Ji-pyung asks for the day's weather update, Young-shil reads out his horoscope instead. Moreover, when Ji-pyung is distressed, Young-shil trolls him by playing a funny song, keeping in mind the predicament he is in and ends up making him laugh. Ji-pyung, while earlier resistant to Young-shil sees the witty AI virtual assistant growing on him eventually.
It's interesting to note that Start-Up and Hotel del Luna are both helmed by the same director Oh Choong-hwan. Hence, it makes sense that Jin-goo would have a cameo in Start-Up, given his equation with Choong-hwan.
Now, that's an intriguing mystery solved!
