RRR trailer launch UPDATES: The audience is not expecting another Baahubali Says Rajamouli
Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios who has acquired all the electronic, satellite and digital rights of RRR said "Have convinced OTT platforms to release RRR on OTT post 75 to 90 days of its theatrical release as footfalls will continue in theatres for several weeks for RRR much like older days."
"Some characters are special. I remember, one such character I played in the past was Bhagat Singh. I heard so many stories from his brother, who was 90+ and it changes your person. Had I shot that film for 6 more months, I would have changed as a person, says Ajay Devgn on playing an intense role in RRR.
SS Rajamouli says that the audience is not expecting another Baahubali but a similar experience to it. "If you look deeply, the audience is not waiting for another Bahubali, they are waiting for same kind of experience that they got in Bahubali. I know pressures are immense. The moment audience come into the theatre, they will see what the film has to offer, and not the expectation due to Bahubali. Am sure, they will be invested in the story," said the director at RRR's press con.
On casting Ajay Devgn for a role in RRR, SS Rajamouli shared, "If you believe in your core storytelling, you don't need to worry about the language. Language is just a medium of communication, words are small bridges, it's just the visual that tells you the story. I have this character played by Ajay Sir. I didnt approach him because I have a long relationship with him, nor did I approach him to make it a North-South combination. I approached him because he suited the character the most. I called him, gave him a 15-minute narration and things fell in place. Of course, commercials are important, but it depends on the story."
Jr NTR says, "SS Rajamouli film is the perfect vehicle for me to enter Hindi cinema," when asked about going Pan India with all films post RRR (Kortala Siva, Prashanth Neel).
