Rajinikanth and Nayanthara's next with AR Murugadoss set for Pongal 2020 release?
While there are lots of speculations doing rounds over the star cast of Thalaiavar 167 starring Rajinikanth and Nayanthara, latest reports suggest that makers have locked the release date as well.
After the success of 2.0 and Petta, superstar Rajinikanth has commenced shooting for his next with director AR Murugadoss. The film has been the talk of the town since its inception over the rumours of Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh have been signed for the project. While an official confirmation regarding Keerthy being a part of the film is yet to be, reportedly Nayanthara has been signed as the female lead of Rajinikanth’s next. Meanwhile, the director recently paid a visit to Pazhani Murugan temple to perform special pooja.

According to a report in IB Times, Rajinikanth and AR Murugadoss film is set for Pongal 2020 release, however, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited. Anirudh Ravichander recently confirmed that he is composing music for the upcoming film. Anirudh confirmed, “As of now, Indian 2 and Murugadoss sir’s film (with Rajinikanth). These two are my Tamil projects, and I have one in Telugu (Jersey, starring Nani).”
Also, as earlier we reported, popular lensman Santosh Sivan has signed Rajinikanth’s film. The film will mark Sivan’s reunion with Rajinikanth after Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi. The untitled film is produced by Lyca Productions and the pre-production work is underway. The shooting of the film will kick start on April 10.
Also, to note, AR Murugadoss-directorial is Rajinikanth’s 167 movie and is being referred to as, Thalaiavar 167.
