Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has taken the first jab of COVID-19 vaccine today.

After Indian actors Saif Ali Khan and Kamal Haasan, superstar Mohanlal receives the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Taking to Instagram, he wrote, "Took the First Shot of Covid Vaccine from Amrita Hospital. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of India, the companies which are producing the vaccine & the medical fraternity, including all hospitals, for their relentless assistance and cooperation shown towards the COVID Vaccination Drive." 

Recently, Kamal Haasan also shared a video of him getting vaccinated. The actor wrote in Tamil, which loosely translates, "I got vaccinated at Sri Ramachandra Hospital. Everyone who cares not just about themselves but also about others should get the vaccination immediately. Today immunisation of body, next month vaccination against corruption. Get ready." Other Indian celebs who have taken the first dose of the vaccine are Rakesh Roshan, Hema Malini, Satish Shah, Johnny Lever, Shilpa Shirodkar, Ram Charan's wife Upsana among others.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Mohanlal after the success of his recent film Drishyam 2, is back on sets and is shooting for Aaraattu. Directed by B Unnikrishnan ‘Aaraattu’ is releasing on August 12. Shraddha Srinath will be seen playing an IAS officer in the film while Nedumudi Venu, Saikumar, Siddique, Ashwin Kumar, Rachana Narayanankutty, Johnny Antony, Vijayaraghavan, Nandu, Swasika, and Neha Saxena are a part of the supporting cast.
