It is a well-known fact that popular films from the South are often remade in Bollywood and they instantly connect with the cinema goers owing to the powerful subject and the power-packed performances. In recent times, many South films have been remade in Hindi and the recent one is none other than the Arun Vijay, Smruthi Venkat and Tanya Hope starrer Tamil film Thadam. The remake rights of the film have been acquired by film-maker Murad Khetani. The project is expected to go on floors later this year.

Murad Khetani spoke to Mumbai Mirror and revealed, 'We had been hearing positive reviews about the film, so we asked for a screening from the Tamil producers. We liked it and immediately bought the rights for the Hindi version. There are a couple of directors and actors interested in this film The original was set in Chennai, but we will be changing the setting to someplace in the North. The story, however, remains the same". Fans of the original film will surely be delighted to know about it.

The film Thadam is directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Actor Arun Vijay had received loads of accolades for the film. He was seen in a double role in the film. He essayed the role of a businessman as well as a gambler in the film. The film was a huge hit as the masses were highly impressed with it.

It was the second collaboration between Arun Vijay and Magizh Thirumeni. Arun Vijay had also thanked his fans after receiving accolades for the film.
