Actor Siddharth reacts to Dangal star Zaira Wasim’s Bollywood exit; Says ‘Its your life, do whatever you want’

Dangal actress Zaira Wasim recently left everyone in shock after announcing her decision to quit movies. The actress took to social media and announced about the same in a 5-page long statement. Many B-town celebrities took to Twitter to extend their support and sent out their wishes for the young star. Among many, Bollywood and South actor Siddharth also took to social media to speak on the same. The Rang De Basanti star also sent best wishes to Zaira Wasim.  

Siddharth tweeted, “It's your life. Do whatever you want. Wish you only the best for your future. I believe our art and our profession is our life. We fight to keep religion out of it. It doesn't belong here. If your religion made you do this, maybe you didn't belong here after all. "Godspeed".” Zaira won a National Award for her debut film, Dangal. The young and talented actress will be seen last time on the big screen in Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink alongside Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. Reportedly, Zaira will not be a part of the film’s promotions.

Zaira Wasim in her long statement said that the working in the industry has "damaged my peace, imaan and my relationship with Allah." Read the full statement here.


After the sports-drama film Dangal (2016), in the following year, Wasim found her breakthrough role in Advait Chandan's directorial debut Secret Superstar (2017) starring Aamir Khan in the lead.
