Shakib Al Hasan has been a star for the Bangladesh side in this edition of the World Cup. Ever since he was promoted to number three in the batting order, his contributions to the side with the bat has increased significantly. He has made scores of 75, 64, 121, 124*, 41, 51 and has amassed yet another half-century against India. With this knock, he became the first player in the history of ICC Cricket World Cup to score 500 runs and pick up 10 wickets in a single edition. Also, a fine bowler, his five-wicket haul helped Bangladesh thrash Afghanistan by 62 runs in their previous game.

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first. Once again, it was Rohit Sharma's show as he smashed his fourth century of the tournament and helped India post a total in excess of 300. He stitched together a 180 run partnership with KL Rahul and gave India a strong platform.
