WWE News: John Morrison REVEALS why it took him so long to come back to the wrestling company
It was recently revealed that John Morrison, who left WWE in 2011, would be returning to the wrestling company soon. In an interview, the wrestler revealed as to why it took him so long to come back to WWE. Read below to know what John had to say.
After the return of CM Punk to WWE (as an analyst on WWE Backstage), it was recently announced that John Morrison will be returning to the wrestling company as he signed a multi-year contract. "Confirmed. I have signed with @WWE - I’ve never been as good at anything as I am at wrestling & I can’t wait to stand again in a #WWE ring opposite the most talented people in the business‼️," John had tweeted when the announcement was first made.
While he has still not made his in-ring return, Morrison did appear on WWE's YouTube series The Bump to talk about his comeback and more specifically, why he chose now to come back and not sooner. "When I left in 2011, I meant to take a year off. I wanted to make some movies and do my own thing for a little bit. That year turned into eight years. It's crazy how fast the time flew. And part of it was I was having a lot of fun wrestling for other places," the 40-year-old wrestler confessed.
John, who left WWE in 2011, felt he was the guy and the brand ambassador of wrestling promotions like Lucha Underground and IMPACT 5 Star and he personally found it cool having all that autonomy.
"Why did I come back? Or why did it take so long? I think I was just having so much fun doing what I was doing. I had always meant to come back. At this point, when I realized, 'I better get my ass back to WWE before ten years goes by.' Because time is flying," Morrison revealed.
