Taron Egerton on Wolverine casting rumours: I'd love the excuse to get in shape
Taron Egerton was asked about the Wolverine casting rumours once again and the Rocketman actor revealed that he would love to star in an MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) film because it would be the perfect excuse to get in shape. Read below to know more about what the actor had to say on the same.
In a short but significant span, Taron Egerton has made quite an impact in Hollywood with the Kingsman franchise as well as the recently released Rocketman. While Kingsman 3 will see Taron play the beloved Eggsy for the very last time, Rocketman saw the actor portray the iconic musician Elton John. For the latter, the actor is already generating Oscar buzz as his performance won a ton of critical acclaim for the star. Now, rumours are rife that Egerton is the number one contender to replace close friend Hugh Jackman as the next Wolverine as X-Men enters the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
In an earlier interview with Heart Breakfast, Taron had said that he's not sure if he is quite grisly enough to play Wolverine, which has a faithful fan following. During an interaction with Variety, Egerton tackled the Wolverine casting rumours yet again as the fan support has been immense. "I love Marvel and I love the movies, and I'd love the excuse to get in shape. I'd love to be apart of it. Whether [Wolverine's] realistic or not, I don't know, but I'd love to be apart of one," the actor shared.

The trademark sideburns of Wolverine on Hugh were a tale of the legends but does Taron think he can pull the look off? To this, Egerton humbly revealed that it won't be as good as Hugh's.
