It has been two and a half years since Hugh Jackman kissed Wolverine goodbye. The Aussie actor, who became a synonym to the X-Men character over the past two decades, decided to hang his claws after James Marigold's Logan. The actor decided it was time to give up the role and move on from Wolverine. In Logan, Wolverine was seen dying, protecting his daughter aka X-23. While it might have ended Jackman's run in the X-Men universe, there are chances that Marvel Studios would want to bring back the character to the big screen.

For the unversed, Marvel Studios now owns the X-Men after acquiring it from Fox during Disney-Fox deal. Coming back to the Wolverine, rumours have been doing the rounds that the hunt for a new Wolverine is on. Several stars are inclined towards giving Wolverine a shot. This includes John Wick star Keanu Reeves and Aquaman star Jason Momoa. However, a new name has now been associated with the X-Men role. Rumour has it that Kingsman: The Secret Service and Rocketman star Taron Egerton could replace Jackman as the Wolverine.

Reports started doing the rounds that the actor is on the verge of filling Jackman's shoes. However, the actor has revealed what is going on. Speaking to Heart Breakfast, via Digital Spy, the actor deemed these reports as mere rumours. "That one I think is just a rumour. As far as I'm aware it's unfounded. I don't know if I'm quite grisly enough," Egerton said. "I mean if the people at Marvel think I am then great, let's go. But I think there are probably better candidates. But I would love to be involved with that world somewhere," he added.
