Shazam: Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock thanks fans for box office success; teases about spin off film Black Adam

Shazam which is the latest entrant in the DCEU is doing amazing at the box office and producer Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram account to thank fans for the movie's box office success. In the 4-minute long video, he also revealed that the movie will see a spin-off soon, i.e. Black Adam and he will be playing the titular role and the production will start in a year's time.

Johnson started the video by saying how he wants to deliver a very big package of gratitude for fans who made Shazam a really big success around the world. He also said that he is elated to see how the movie is getting rave reviews from all the quarters and how the movie has received 92 or 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. He later revealed how he asked Warner Bros. to come up with two different origin movies for Shazam and Black Adam.

Dwayne Johnson explained, “For those who know the comic books and who know the mythology of Shazam know that Shazam is connected to Black Adam". He further revealed, "Black Adam is an antihero or villain, who I can not wait to play. I’ve been developing this, and it’s been with me in my DNA, for over ten years now. We should start shooting that in about a year. I’m very excited about that".

Johnson went on to say, "I can’t wait to play Black Adam because they’re all getting their asses kicked when I play Black Adam. That day of reckoning is coming for everyone".
