Earlier this month, Forbes officially named the beauty mogul Kylie Jenner as the ‘youngest self-made’ billionaire’ ever. Within no time, the news took the internet by storm. However, Kylie being labeled a ‘self-made’ didn’t go down well with many. Twitterati was soon to debate on whether or not Kylie deserves to be called a self-made despite being born in a rich family. Now, in a recent interview with the New York Times, Kylie opened up about being named the ‘youngest self-made billionaire’ and also the criticism she received regarding the ‘self-made’ label.
The 21-year-old fashionista admitted that she didn’t become a billionaire on her own. Yes, you read that right! The Kylie Cosmetics owner said, “I can’t say I’ve done it by myself.” The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star further went on to share, “If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
Speaking about her successful Kylie Cosmetics makeup business, Kylie said that she feels really good. ‘I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back,” said the makeup mogul.
This is not the first time Kylie Jenner has opened up about the ‘self-made’ label. Earlier, during an interview with a leading tabloid, addressing the label, Kylie had said, “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back. That is the category that I fall under. That is the category that I fall under,” added Kylie.
