The eighth and final season of the HBO drama series Game of Thrones is all set to take the internet by storm on 14 April 2019. The GoT season 8 trailer has already created buzz and it has raised the curiosity level high amongst the fans. Now ahead of the final season, Sophie Turner, 23, who portrays the character of Sansa Stark made a revelation on paycheck between her and co-star Kit Harington, who portrays the role of Jon Snow in the same.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, Sophie Turner revealed that Kit was paid more than what she earned on the show. Yes, you read that right! The GoT actress said, “Kit got more money than me.” Further defending the pay gap, Sophie aka Sansa added, ‘it’s because he (Kit) had a bigger storyline.’
The Northampton born star further went on to say how it feels fair to earn less than what Kit aka Jon Snow earned on the show. “And for the last series, he had something crazy like 70-night shoots, and I didn't have that many. I was like, "You know what... you keep that money,” Sophie explained. For the uninitiated, the GoT actress reportedly earned £158,000 (approx 1 Crore) per week, whereas Kit Harington earned £537,000 (approx 4 Crores) per week.
Sophie who portrays the role of Sansa in Game of Thrones also revealed that playing Sansa didn’t affect her emotionally. “Initially, I didn’t feel there was anything that stayed with me from all the things Sansa went through. But though I think it hasn’t affected me emotionally, I did start thinking about the domestic abuse and rape, and it spurred this little part of me that might be an activist,” she said.
