Game of Thrones Season 2 Recap: Brace yourselves for the War of the Five Kings
With just few days remaining for the final season of Game of Thrones to arrive, the excitement amongst the fans is palpable. Read below to catch up on the second season of the show.

The excitement is truly contagious in the air as our favorite show Game of Thrones is just two weeks away. Furthermore, HBO has also increased our anticipation by sharing some goosebumps-worthy trailer and promos of the show. The much awaited final season will be starting from April 14 and just like the fans worldwide, we are waiting for the show with bated breath. Well, so many characters and conspiracies can be confusing right? So, here is the recap of the second season of the show.
Season 2 begins with Stannis Baratheon claiming the Iron Throne and declaring Joffrey, Tommen and Myrcella Baratheon as illegitimate children of Cersei and Jaime Lannister, while Robb Stark sends Theon Greyjoy to gain the support of his father Balon Grejoy for strengthening his support for the Iron Throne. Tyrion gains control as the Hand of the King in King's Landing, while Catelyn Stark seeks Renly Baratheon's help to strengthen Robb's foothold and meets Breinne of Tarth, a female warrior fiercely loyal to Renly. In Qarth, the warlock Pree steals Daenerys' dragons, while in Harrenhal, Arya and Gendry maange to escape from Tywin Lannister's clutches with the help of Jaquen H'ghar. Joffrey agrees to marry Margaery Tyrell when the Tyrells lay allegiance to the Lannisters.
The season ends on a big note with the terrific Battle of the Blackwater Bay where Tyrion Lannister shows a heroic bravery. Daenerys emerges victorious as she retrieves her dragons from the House of Undying.
Arya Stark receives a special gift from H'ghar while fleeing from Harrenhal. The season saw a mighty war of the Five Kings namely Joffrey Baratheon, Renly Baratheon, Robb Stark, Stannis Baratheon and Balon Greyjoy.
