Game of Thrones: From Joffrey Baratheon to Ramsay Bolton, 5 satisfying deaths on the TV Show

A lot of blood. A lot of sex. And even more deaths. There's only one show that can attest to this motto - Game of Thrones. In 2011, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss did the unthinkable - recreating the magic of George R. R. Martin's series, A Song of Ice and Fire. Almost, a decade later, the iconic show nears its finality as Season 8 premieres from April 14, 2019. We will soon be saying goodbye to characters like Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow. However, over the years, GOT fans are used to bid farewell to many characters. 

The number of deaths in Game of Thrones is countless and some of them left us devastated. Whether it be (spoilers ahead) Ned Stark's beheading or Shireen's brutal murder. But, once in a while, there were some deaths that were long awaited and cruelly satisfying. The bad guys sometimes lost as well. After bearing these characters and their god-awful antics for seasons, justice prevailed and we almost clapped along with their demise. Let's take a look at 5 satisfying deaths in GOT history:

1. Joffrey Baratheon

If the Red Wedding ruined us, the Purple Wedding was like sweet surrender. Joffrey Baratheon was the first true villain of Game of Thrones and responsible for Ned Stark's beheading. His cruelty was unmatched and his death was befitting. Kudos to the badass Olenna Tyrell for finally putting an end to the tyranny of Baratheon... Lannister.

2. Ramsay Bolton

It was wrong of us to think that there could not be a villain worse than Joffrey. Then came Ramsay. If a character could make you root and feel empathy towards Theon (who burnt two kids), you can imagine the viciousness embodied by Ramsay. It was riveting to see Sansa, who was raped by her husband, get the final word and let the hounds out on Ramsay. 

3. Walder Frey

The Red Wedding is one of the most shocking moments not just in GOT, but in the history of Television Shows. The Starks have always been the fan favourite and to see beloved characters like Catelyn Stark and Robb Stark being brutally murdered, has us covered in goosebumps even now. But, leave it to Arya Stark to lay vengeance for her family and Walder Frey's death was every bit satisfying. What goes around comes around, indeed!

4. Tywin Lannister

There's some who absolutely love him and some who hate him but everyone can agree on one thing - we loathe Tywin Lannister for his ill treatment towards his son, Tyrion. Hence, it was euphoric to see that ultimately, Tyrion was the one who shot the deathly arrows, while Tywin was going about his business. Hilarious and satisfying, indeed!

5. Petyr Baelish

When we got to know that Petyr was responsible for the Stark family's downfall, we waited with bated breaths to bid farewell to the vicious human being. Hence, to see Sansa and Arya play him and beat him in his own game was weirdly pleasing.
