Chris Evans felt he was 'graduating from high school or college' when he bid farewell to Captain America
Chris Evans will be gracing the big screen with his act in Knives Out. Ahead of its release, the actor looks back at those final moments before he removed the Captain America suit.
2019 would be the year when Iron Man died and Captain America kissed Marvel Cinematic Universe goodbye. With the release in Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr bid farewell to MCU. While both the stars have spoken in length about their farewell, Evans recently recalled the final days on the sets of Avengers: Endgame. On the heels of his new movie Knives Out's release, the Captain America star revealed his ways of moving on from his decade-long Marvel character.
The actor, in a conversation with Men's Journal, revealed he cried on the last day of the filming and shared that he felt like he was graduating from school or college. "It felt like graduating high school or college, you know? For the last month of filming I was letting myself go to work every day and be a little overwhelmed and a little nostalgic and grateful. By the last day, I was bawling. I cry pretty easy, but I was definitely bawling," he said.
The actor had previously confessed that he got emotional on the last day. He had taken to Twitter to confirm he had shot for his final scene last October. In the interview, the actor also compared his reel role with his real life. He confessed playing the Cap made him a better man. "When you're playing a character for a long time, you start to see the parallels between what the character's going through and what you're going through. You start to look at your own conflicts and circumstances through the eyes of someone who might handle it better than you would," he added.
Moving on from Captain America, Evans will be seen in Knives Out starting this weekend. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
