EXCLUSIVE - Padmavati: Ranveer Singh makes Games of Thrones' Khal Drogo his reference point for Khilji's look
In an EXCLUSIVE interaction with Pinkvilla, Ranveer Singh's fitness trainer revealed to us that they made Game of Thrones' iconic character Khal Drogo as the reference point for Alauddin Khilji's look.
Ranveer Singh's look from Padmavati became a talking point when the poster and the trailer for the film came out. People started making comparisons of his look with that of Game of Thrones' iconic character Khal Drogo.
We recently caught up with Ranveer's fitness trainer- Mustafa Ahmed (Celebrity Fitness Trainer, Co-owner AKRO) and he revealed to us EXCLUSIVELY that they indeed made Khal Drogo as the reference point for Ranveer's Alauddin Khilji look.
Mustafa Ahmed stated, "Ranveer and I sat down to discuss the Khilji look and to my surprise, both of us were of the same opinion, that we should use Khal Drogo from GOT as a reference point and we worked with that."
The trainer further said, "Khal Drogo's physique is something we set as a goal and were happy when comparisons were made."
That's quite interesting!
Earlier, when a leading entertainment magazine asked the actor what it was like to play an antagonist in Padmavati, Ranveer revealed, "I’m s**t scared. I’m playing an anti-hero. Only when I see the film, will I be able to assess my character. It’s a risky move for me. That’s why I took so much time to sign it. For a mainstream leading man to make a choice like this at this stage is dicey. It’s a despicable character. He’s mean. One of my seniors, and who I believe is one of the greatest actors of all time, advised me to be careful. She told me the Indian audience is naïve. If they love a character, the love will transfer to the actor who played it. In this case, if they hate my character, the hate will be transferred to me."
