EXCLUSIVE: The wackiest thing I have done for a guy is to travel long distance to see him for a short period of time- Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif is a busy bee. She is one heroine who has enjoyed the privilege of working with the who's who of the industry. Although her last release Phantom didn't fare well at the box office, but that has not dimmed her dazzle. She is back stronger and yes, more beautiful than ever. In an exclusive free-wheeling
Besides Films, what keeps Katrina occupied? What do you do when not shooting?
Katrina: (Laughs) So when I am not shooting, with whatever time I get which is not that much, I try and train with Yasmin Karachiwala who is my trainer. It's something I really enjoy. For me, a gym is not just about fitness, it's also a kind of stress buster in a way for me so that's something I do in my off time when I am home. If I still have more time then I really like watching TV Shows. There are a lot of shows that I follow. You know you start watching a few episodes and then you don't get a chance to finish it so when I get time I follow those.
Katrina who joined this industry years ago and Katrina today, what difference do you see now?
Katrina: Wow! I don't know how much of a change is there in me now. I have to ask other people who've known me. Sometimes I think you get more stressed when there's a lot of pressure and I think somewhere I still haven't learnt to deal with that stress very well! Apart from that, I think my focus in the way that I work is pretty much the same. Although I do enjoy being on movie sets a lot more now because I think I am more confident. I know about the process of filmmaking a bit more now. So before when I had been on some film set I used to be really nervous but now I think it's more of a process that I enjoy.
Like our mothers are obsessed with our marriages, do you also get frequent 'gyaan' from your Mom?
Katrina: My Mother has always been such a wonderful example who has always instilled such wonderful values, principles and thoughts about life. I come from a family of six girls. I have six sisters so you can imagine how my Mom must be stressing about our love lives say our boyfriend problems- girlfriend problems-husband problems- baby problems! But my Mother has always been very supportive and encouraging. She never makes you feel that there's any sort of pressure. She always has given opinions very gently when it comes to your partner.
Do you have Sundays off like we do?
Katrina: No, Not yet. There are a few actors in the industry who have no work on Sunday rules but I have not yet reached there.
We have seen a lot of you in Fashion shows, do you enjoy walking the ramp?
Katrina: You know sometimes it is really nerve wrecking and sometimes it's really enjoyable. But you know today, after so many years I walked for Tarun Tahiliani's show, who was one of the first designers who I had walked for when I had started out as a model, quite a few years ago. So today was really fun. We were talking backstage and we were reminiscing about the old days and it brought back quite a fond memories.
Here is a quick rapid-fire with you.
- Any favourite movie from 2015?

(Thinks hard) Can't think of one. There are so many beautiful ones.

So, that's another secret I can share with Pinkvilla readers. I never carry a handbag. If you go back to the site of course you can see all the old pictures from the last so many years. You will notice that I never ever carry a handbag except maybe when I am coming from a long trip at the airport then I carry a Backpack like a Rucksack.
- Any Hollywood Celeb who you think looks like you?
Me? I wish! Everyone is so beautiful! I can't think of anyone but while growing up I found Penelope Cruz very beautiful!
- What is the wackiest thing any fan has ever done for you?
I find it really funny when people come and sing me songs. I think it takes a lot of courage to do that.

- Do you know how to cook any Indian food?
I know how to cook one or two basic things like how to boil an egg or to make a toast (laughs). Listen, I have six sisters, hierarchy in the house goes like this: If you're younger than me then you've to make food for me. I get lucky because I was in the middle (chuckles).
- Tips for younger girls who aspire to become next Katrina Kaif.
I think anyone who looks up to someone and whichever field they are in, should remember that rather than emulating someone else it's better if you try and understand what your uniqueness is. Every one should find their own uniqueness.
