Manushi Chhillar's heartwarming winning answer and all you need to know about her
The crown comes back to India as Manushi Chhillar wins Miss World 2017
After almost a long wait of 17 years, India finally gets its crown back and it is all because of Manushi Chhillar, Miss World 2017. The young 20-year-old won this esteemed competition and put back India on the global map. She won the Miss India pageant where she represented her home state Haryana earlier this year on June 25th. However, it was her answer that not only won her the title but also bazillion hearts across the globe.

Manushi was asked, “Which profession according to you deserves the highest salary and why?” To which she confidently replied, “I think a mother deserves the highest respect. I don’t think it’s just about the cash, but also the love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. Mothers should get the highest salary and respect.”
Post that in a statement Manushi said, “The feeling is still sinking in and very excited to make India proud too. I’m also looking forward to the year ahead. My parents have always been my pillar of support and having them here tonight by my side has only brought me more strength and joy. My final answer also came to me by having them here with me in front of me”.
She also tweeted from her official Twitter handle,“Thank you, everyone, for your constant love, support, and prayers. This one’s for India.”
The newly crowned Miss World hails from Haryana and is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat, Haryana. Manushi is a trained Kuchipudi dancer and was trained under the legendary dancers Raja and Radha Reddy. She is an enthusiastic sports lover who loves snorkelling, bungee jumping and scuba diving. Manushi’s parents also belong to the science field. Her father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chillar is a scientist at Defense Research & Development Organisation whereas her mother, Dr. Neelam Chhillar is the head of department of Neuro-Chemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.

Manushi Chhillar is the sixth Indian to have bagged this title, Priyanka Chopra congratulated her “successor” by tweeting “And we have a successor! Congratulations @ManushiChhillar on becoming #MissWorld2017.. cherish and learn, and most importantly enjoy it. Bravo"
