England’s cricketer, James Anderson who is recovering from the calf-muscle tear is expected to be fit for the one-off test match against Ireland before the Ashes that is commencing from 1st August. He suffered from an injury during the County Championship earlier this month. James will be expected to be fully fit in the test against Ireland on Wednesday, if not, then he would try to recover for the Ashes against Australia commencing from 1st August.

Anderson told BCC that he feels good at the moment and said that they would meet again on Monday. "I will keep bowling and we will monitor it. If it comes to Wednesday and I'm fit to play then great, but if not I will work towards being fit for the Ashes,” He added.

England claimed the ICC World Cup 2019 title on the basis of scoring more boundaries in the Final against New Zealand. However, Anderson believes that the English team should carry on the momentum of the ICC World 2019 and said that they can’t afford to hang on to that win. He also admitted that the team realize the dangers that the Aussies bring to the test cricket and they will be fully focused on that.

"We realize the dangers that the Australian team bring to Test cricket, so we're going to have to be fully focused on that. We can't afford to hang on to the World Cup win. It's our job as English cricketers to try and carry that momentum on and hopefully, an Ashes win will do that," said James Anderson.
