CLC Elkie has terminated her contract with Cube Entertainment.

On the 3^rd of February, 2021, CLC's management company Cube Entertainment declared through an announcement that the exclusive contract of Elkie with Cube Entertainment has been terminated and as a result, Elkie will cease activities with CLC and will not be a member of the group anymore.

The company also added that the decision was taken after mutually amicable discussions. They continued to express their gratitude to Cheshires, as the CLC fandom is called for cherishing and supporting Elkie through her journey as part of CLC. They also indicated a fresh new start for Elkie, asking for warm support and encouragement from fans.

Towards the end of last year, Elkie sent a legal notice to Cube Entertainment requesting termination of her exclusive contract. She cited not been paid for her acting activities, poor treatment, mismanagement, and that Cube Entertainment had no solid plans for the further development of CLC, putting the group's future in uncertainty. She also released a handwritten letter expressing her genuine feelings through Weibo where she elaborated on being excited for the future, referring to the members of CLC as family and showing her love and gratitude for fans.

Elkie’s departure from the group was widely speculated ever since this letter was uploaded and the same news has now officially been confirmed. CLC plans to continue its activities as a 6-member group without Elkie in the future.
