Stan Lee Birth Anniversary: 5 epic cameos by the Marvel legend that will make you miss him even more
On Stan Lee's birth anniversary, we remember the legendary Marvel co-creator in the best of ways, which is by going through memory lane and giving you 5 epic cameos by him, which are etched in our minds forever.
Stan Lee was a man who needed no introduction. Marvel's co-creator had a major fan following of his own which could rival the superheroes that he helped create. For years, his creative genius became fodder for comic book readers and theatre-goers, who would eagerly await for Lee's cameos, as epic as Alfred Hitchcock's. Though barely there for just a few seconds, Stan's epic cameos will always be marvelled and remembered for generations to come. That was the power of Stan Lee.
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, when Stan was asked what he would write as his obituary (he used to be an obituary writer), the legend revealed, "Right, but when you're dead, you're finished. I have no thoughts on what (my obituary) should say. My wife is about my age. We'll go about the same time. My daughter knows who I am. That's all I care about." A few weeks back, we had to bid farewell to Stan and it was heartbreaking for all of us. On his birth anniversary today (Lee would have been 96), here are 5 epic cameos by Stan in the Marvel movies that will make you miss him more:
Iron Man (2008)

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) began with Iron Man aka Robert Downey Jr. Hence, Stan Lee's cameo had to be epic and that is what it was. A chance encounter between the two happened at a socialite event where Stark mistook Stan for Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Stan Lee himself had shared that his cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron was one of his favourites ever. As a World War 2 veteran, Stan takes up Thor's challenge of drinking Asgardian liquor and ends up getting carried away from the party because of his drunken stupor. His trademark, "Excelsior," is uttered which drew lot of applause.
Deadpool (2016)

Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool saw an unusual cameo by Stan as the MC of a strip club and it was an entertaining watch.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Chopping of Thor's locks is a heinous crime but if there is one man you can't hate for doing the deed, it's Stan Lee. Stan plays the servant of Grandmaster at Sakaar, and with an evil smirk rids Thor off his luscious blond hair.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Given that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse released after Stan's death, the cameo had to be a bittersweet moment. "I’m going to miss that guy. We were friends, you know," was the heartbreaking line uttered by Lee as a shopkeeper who sells Spider-Man costumes. We were left teary-eyed as we too would miss Stan Lee, who felt more like a friend to all of us.
