All eyes are on Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut now for her latest release, Simran that hits theatres on Friday, September 15, 2017. There has been a good amount of hype around the movie ever since it was announced. The combination of the fiery actress Kangana Ranaut and director Hansal Mehta may prove to be powerful at the box office in comparison to the other Hindi films releasing this week, including Lucknow Central and Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi.

In Simran, Kangana Ranaut plays a Gujarati woman, a divorcee who is into housekeeping but enters the dark world of crime because of her nature. Simran's success is especially important for Kangana Ranaut. If the movie fails at the box office, everyone will say that it happened because of Kangana Ranaut's repeated outbursts against her ex-boyfriend, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. But if it works, she will see even bigger fame than what she could achieve with her hit film Queen where she won the hearts of one and all. So, what exactly are the box office collections of Simran likely to be? We spoke to film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi about it, and he was of the opinion that both Kangana Ranaut's Simran and Farhan Akhtar's Lucknow Central are likely to make Rs 2-2.5 crore at the box office in India.

Akshaye Rathi says, "Both Simran and Lucknow Central will not open big at the box office. The collections will be between Rs 2-2.5 crore on the opening day for Simran as well as Lucknow Central. Both films have been made with a limited budget and will rely on word of mouth to grow their box office collections."

Which means both Simran and Lucknow Central are likely to flop? "No," says Akshaye Rathi. "Simran is releasing only in 850 to 900 screens and Lucknow Central has even less screens at 550. Both films have not gone overboard with their marketing and promotions budget. If you consider these aspects and the positive word of mouth, Simran and Lucknow Central both will make a decent buck."

So, is that why Kangana Ranaut has been fairly confident about Simran's success at the box office? After her Aap Ki Adalat interview, where she spoke largely on her alleged ex, actor Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut said that she has nothing to lose if her films no longer succeed. She is that confident! Akshaye Rathi refrained from talking about Kangana Ranaut's understanding of the business, but feels that it is distributor Anil Thadani who knows the dynamics and has done a great job at handling Simran.

With both Simran and Lucknow Central getting decent reviews, the films may pick up over the weekend box office. Watch this space for more updates on the Lucknow Central and Simran box office.
