From Dilli Ka Launda to Befikre - Here's Wishing, Happy Birthday Ranveer Singh!

Ranveer Singh. Re-writing the mantras of success on the horizon of Bollywood, here is the new age star, who is racing ahead of the time, parallel to the league of superstars in the country and well, proudly making a mark for himself. The journey to success is never easy, it takes a lot more that just talent and luck to be there - on top of your game, excelling in what you do, possessing a sort of Midas touch, becoming the people's man and receiving immense amount of love from the masses.

There's much more about this actor which the world is unaware about. Ranveer Singh Bhavnani dropped the last name from his surname, because he thought it was way too long and will hamper his sale-able value. RS always wanted to become an actor and struggled for three years before Aditya Chopra gave him a break. Hence, he worked as a copywriter in ad agency O&M before his big break came his way. Ranveer received offers to act in ads even before his Bollywood debut,. Interestingly,he didn’t do them because he felt a fresh face always works much better in films and working in an ad would take that 'thing' away. When Aditya Chopra offered RS the lead role in Band Baajaa Baarat, Ranveer was so overwhelmed that he went to a corridor and started crying. But lil did many know, RS almost lost his first role in Band Baaja Baaraat. Wonder Why? Apparently, Ranveer was out with a girl when Yashraj's casting director Shanoo Sharma called. Ranveer refused to take Shanu's calls, as in his own words, he had other things on his mind during the date with the girl. (Who's the lucky one?)

Among his circle of friends, Ranveer is known in his circle for cracking the best of adult jokes. Do you know that RS loves to collect X-rated magazines and picks them up from all the countries he visits. He loves to eat junk and likes his food spicy. Our Sunny bwoy is not a morning person and hates waking up early. The superstar quality was there since the childhood. There is an interesting incident from his kiddie-days, when Ranveer had gone for a birthday party. When he was asked by his grandmother to entertain her, he jumped in the lawn and started dancing to the song 'Chumma chumma.' So much for growing up on #RanveerEnergyDrinks!

An average looking, Joe kinda bwoy, a conman who charms the socks off every hottie in the film. Certainly, kudiyann nu thug le!

Lootera (2013)

A complexed, subtle, mutli-layered role from the actor who displayed his restrained acting chops with much charm and smoldering intensity.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela- Ram Leela (2013)

Oozing sexiness, crasness, bizarreness and that too in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali's gangsta-inspired Gujuarti-romance drama, the character of Ram was all about RS!

Gunday (2014)

Defining bromance with cousin Arjun Kapoor in Gunday, with his ripped frame, to die-for-masala-genre attitude - RS rocked the 70s effervescent charm with swag.

Kill Dill (2014)

RS with his idol Govinda and the innocent face comic timing, managed to keep the otherwise dud film afloat at the BO.

Dil Dhadakne Do (2015)

The 25-something clueless rich-society Kabir Mehra was endearing to the core. Understated comic timing with some superlative scenes among a strong ensemble, RS was a crowd-pleaser.

Bajirao Mastani (2015)

As Peshwa Bajirao Ballad, the Maratha warrior, an intense lover, RS shaved his head, locked himself for 21 days in a room, grew moustache for over an year and bwoy, no one could have possibly pulled off the strong role the way Ranveer did- with dignity and conviction in equal measure. He swept all the awards for his standout act, esp Best Actor - Filmfare.

Ranveer-ism goes beyond his 24*7 energy, his constant and affable persona among his fans, the likeable-relatable average to go guy image.
