BTS' Map Of The Soul 7 goes GOLD in the United Kingdom; Third album to achieve this feat

BTS has done it yet again! BTS' fourth Korean-language (seventh overall) studio album, Map Of The Soul: 7 is shining in the United Kingdom! Map Of The Soul: 7 was released on February 21, 2020, the follow-up to their 2019 extended play, Map Of The Soul: Persona. The album is a deeply personal one for the group, as it marks seven years of them being together, since their debut on June 13, 2013. The album explores the themes of love and self-acceptance.

Now almost a year later, Map Of The Soul:7 has achieved newer heights! According to a report carried out by Soompi, Map Of The Soul: 7 is officially certified Gold in the United Kingdom. On February 26, the British Phonographic Industry confirmed that Map of the Soul: 7 has received an official gold BRIT certification. For the uninitiated, According to the British Phonographic Industry's certification standards, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units sold. However, this isn't the first time BTS went Gold in the UK. BTS' Love Yourself: Answer and Map of the Soul: Persona, have received Gold certifications too. BTS currently has eight silver-certified albums in the UK as well as three silver-certified singles. Also, BTS’s pop-disco track, Dynamite was the first single from a K-Pop act to go gold in the United Kingdom.

Map Of The Soul: 7 has a total of 20 tracks, with some tracks from their EP, Map Of The Soul: Persona. The lead track is the foot-tapping song titled ON in collaboration with Sia.
