Box Office Prediction: Housefull 4, Saand Ki Aankh, Made In China, who will win the Diwali BO? Find Out
This Diwali, three movies are set to clash at the box office. Akshay Kumar hopes to put up a Housefull board with Housefull 4 whereas Rajkummar Rao would be carrying the Made In China board this weekend. Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar will also aim the Saand Ki Aankh at the box office.
As we near the Diwali weekend, all eyes are set on the box office to see which movie will win the festive weekend. Three Bollywood movies are set to clash at the box office this weekend. Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh return for yet another Housefull movie in Housefull 4. This time, they have Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Kriti Kharbanda to join them in the laugh riot. This Diwali weekend also sees Rajkummar Rao, Boman Irani and Mouni Roy present a quirky take with Made In China. Hoping to give them a run for their money, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar team up for Saand Ki Aankh.
While the reviews for the three movies are slowly finding their way to the internet, it seems like Housefull 4 will grab the top spot at the weekend box office in terms of numbers. Trade analyst Girish Johar tells Pinkvilla that while Housefull 4 will open to a bigger number than Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh, there are few factors to be considered. He explains that given the three movies belong to different genres, cater to different audiences, have contrasting budgets, casting, scale and costing which would impact the box office collection of each movie.
"Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh are little more skewed towards multiplex audience whereas Housefull 4 caters to massy audience. Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh has a similar set of the audience so if both are good, both will work. If all three are good, all three will work. If none of them are good then none of them will work. The good film which is stronger and meatier in content will eventually stand out," he says. Given Saand Ki Aankh is already tax-free in a few places, it could benefit the makers.
Johar predicts Housefull 4 would open between Rs 18 to 20 crores because it is a pre-holiday release and everyone would be busy prepping for the festival. He feels Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh would open at Rs 3 to 5 crores. Housefull 4 is expected to release in over 3,000 screens, Made In China would screen on 1,500 screens and Saand Ki Aankh could open on 1,000 screens.
