Box Office Collection: Munna Michael and Lipstick Under My Burkha continue at a decent pace at the ticket windows
Here's how Lipstick Under My Burkha and Munna Michael performed on day 2 of its release.
This week witnessed two releases at the box office in Bollywood. While one is a mass entertainer Munna Michael starring Tiger Shroff and Nidhhi Aggerwal, the other one is the much-talked about movie Lipstick Under My Burkha starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Plabita Borthakur and Aahana Kumra.
On the day two, Saturday, Munna Michael earned INR 6 crore at the ticket windows and witnessed a drop from the opening day collection. Going by the reviews, the film hasn't impressed the critics.
Earlier, talking about the movie, Tiger said, "Very challenging, especially the dance sequences as they were intense and were pretty hard on the body but I expect nothing as we are paying a tribute to Michael Jackson."
On the other hand, Lipstick Under My Burkha has impressed the critics with the bold subject. The film starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah was in the news when CBFC refused to certify the film. The trailer of the film created a buzz all over the news as it was bold and the movie is about four women who are leading four separate battles for their freedom.
The film earned INR 1.85 crore on Day 2 making the total to INR 2.95 crore. With the film being made on a tight budget of INR 6 crore including P&A, this one's sure to do well at the box office!
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos made INR 2 crore on its ninth day, taking the total to INR 46.27 crore. With the current trend, the movie will make just about over INR 50 crore by the end of this weekend. But it will struggle to cross INR 55 crore as far as the lifetime collection of the movie is concerned.
