Box Office Occupancy Report: Beauty and the Beast races ahead of Aa Gaya Hero and Trapped
Emma Watson and Dan Stevens' Beauty and the Beast, in terms of occupancy rate, has taken the first seat and Indian releases like Trapped and Aa Gaya Hero are lagging behind.
Beauty and the Beast has finally hit the screens today and stars Emma Watson who plays Belle and Dan Stevens who is the Beast. The film also features Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Hattie Morahan and Ian McKellen in pivotal roles.
The movie is based on the timeless tale of Belle who ends up being a prisoner. In India, Disney's Beauty and the Beast is ahead of Govinda's Aa Gaya Hero, Kiara Advani and Mustafa Burmawala's Machine and Rajkummar Rao's Trapped.
Beauty and the Beast has been released in 600 screens which is relatively very less when compared to Machine. However, in terms of occupancy rate, Emma Watson's movie is ahead of Kiara Advani and Mustafa Burmawala's Machine. Beauty and the Beast's occupancy rate is 15% and Machine is at 10%.
Govinda's comeback film Aa Gaya Hero is nowhere close to Beauty and the Beast and the reviews pouring in for the film has been negative. This might affect the film's run at the box office in the long run.
Rajkummar Rao's Trapped has been appreciated for the powerful performance by the lead actor. Given that the film has been made on a smaller budget, one can hope that the film will fare well at the box office.
