Sarbjit has a decent opening at the box office
The much awaited biopic Sarbjit has finally hit screens today. The film has been promoted well and the heart-wrenching trailer received thumbs up from the critics. At the recently held, Sarbjit premiere, the movie received several accolades from B-town celebs
Sarbjit had a decent opening at the box-office. With the release of Hollywood film X Men - Apocalypse alongside Sarbjit, the latter film did a better business than Aishwarya starrer.
The opening of Sarbjit was low at around 15%. As the film is set against the backdrop of Punjab, the opening in that region was better than the other regions. Still the film collections are not up to the mark yet. But can be increased and go fast as it is dominated by multiplexes.
So, basically, the film has to work in these regions to stand a chance at the box-office.
We have to wait for the first weekend to see how Sarbjit has fared in the country overall.
