Box Office Report: Bajirao Mastani leaves behind Dilwale as third week closes
Its been two weeks since Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty's Dilwale hit the silver screen on Dec 18, 2015 and its clear that the Ranveer-Deepika-Priyanka starrer has raced ahead of the SRK-Kajol multi starrer with Bajirao Mastani earning approximately INR 151 crores while Dilwale has earned INR 132 crores.
While Dilwale earned around INR 2.25 crores on Day 16, Bajirao Mastani managed to earn approximately INR 5.25 crores. It is expected that the nett earnings of both the films for the third weekend should be INR 8.50 crores and INR 18 crores respectively.
Looking at the current trend, it looks highly unlikely that Dilwale will now be able to touch even the INR 150 crores benchmark. Seems the clash costed Dilwale more than it did to Bajirao Mastani.
With the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar starrer Wazir releasing next Friday, it will be interesting to note how these two major films of 2015 fare in competition.
