Box Office Report: ‘Hero’ has a fair weekend; ‘Welcome Back’ collects Rs 85 cr in 10 days

Nikhil Advani’s ‘Hero’ had a fair first weekend collection. The film made Rs 20.75 crore in three days (Friday – 6.5 cr, Saturday – 6.5 cr, Sunday – 7.75 cr).

The film, starring debutantes Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi did well in some circuits like Mumbai, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar while underperformed in certain cities as per Box Office India reports.

On the other hand, Anees Bazmee’s comedy ‘Welcome Back’ collected Rs 85 crore at the box office in 10 days with the collection of around Rs 11.75 crore in its second weekend. The collection is as follows - Friday – 2.50 cr, Saturday – 4.25 cr, Sunday – 5 cr. The film starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Shruti Haasan has certainly shown good growth at the box office.

Now, it will be interesting to see how ‘Hero’ fares at the box office this week as it will be pitted against 'Katti Batti' which is also helmed by Nikhil. 'Katti Batti' releases this Friday.
