BLACKPINK rules top spot of Billboard Global Excl US chart with Lovesick Girls; 'The Album' hits new milestone
BLACKPINK has everyone talking as the K-pop girl group topped the Billboard Global Excl US this week with their recently released track, Lovesick Girls. The group's latest LP, The Album, has also achieved a new milestone.
Congratulations are in order for BLACKPINK has made history this week. Billboard revealed that the K-pop girl group has achieved two massive milestones and we cannot be happier for the members. BLACKPINK had the fandom, aka BLINKS, cheering when they topped the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts with their recently released Lovesick Girls. The track, which is a part of their latest LP The Album, made history by debuting on the top spot. BLACKPINK became the girl group to top the international chart.
While Lovesick Girls soared to the top of Billboard Global Excl US, they had to settle for the second spot at the Billboard Global 200. The chart was topped by Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS' Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat). As for Billboard Hot 100, Lovesick Girls sits on the 59th spot. While the track has everyone's attention, BLACKPINK's latest release - The Album - has also been achieving a couple of feats. Billboard revealed that their LP, The Album, has placed itself on the second spot of this week's top 5 on the Billboard 200.

The LP has racked up jaw-dropping 110,000 equivalent album units during the week. The score consisted of 81,000 traditional album sales, 2,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units, and 26,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units. Apart from this, The Album has become the highest-charting album by any girl group since 2008's Welcome to the Dollhouse by Danity Kane.
