Ben Stokes posted a heartwarming message for the England team and said that they wouldn’t have claimed the ICC World Cup 2019 title without each other.
Ben Stokes was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional innings of 84 runs in the final against New Zealand at Lord’s. He scored a brilliant unbeaten 84 off only 98 balls which helped the team put 241 runs on board at the end of 50 over, resulting the match in a tie that was followed by a super over. Stokes played a crucial role in the super over as well as he walked into the pavilion and smashed 8 runs of 3 deliveries. However, the super over resulted in a tie and England claimed the title as they scored more boundaries than the Black Caps in the game.
Ben Stokes posted a picture with the entire England cricket team and captioned it with a heartwarming message. He wrote as, “15 players and backroom staff, and so many other people who aren’t in this photo are World Cup winners, it’s the best thing about being a part of a team is that you get to share these moments with great people, and we all know it wouldn’t of happened without each other #England #Team”.

Back in 2016, in the World Cup T20 match against West Indies, he conceded three consecutive sixes to Carlos Brathwaite which resulted in England’s defeat. He has experienced significant growth in the past three years as a cricketer and has been exceptional in the ICC World Cup 2019.
