5 easy and quick home remedies to get rid of dandruff

Dandruff is usually caused because of a fungus called Malassezia which grows on the scalp. Coconut and Honey Scalp Scrub

Honey has great anti-microbial properties which helps in eliminating dandruff. Coconut on the other hand helps in preserving the hair’s natural proteins. Mix 2 teaspoons of coconut oil with 2 teaspoons of olive, 2 teaspoons of honey and 3 teaspoons of yoghurt. Mix them all together to make a paste of medium consistency. Apply this mixture from the roots till the tips of the hair, massage it for a good 20 mins and leave it on for 45 mins. Wash your hair and rinse it with shampoo. Pat dry your hair and apply a few drops of coconut oil on your scalp. Keep repeating this process once a week and say bye-bye to those awful dandruffs.
Baking Soda and lemon

The best gift to human race. This multipurpose product is super beneficial in helping you get rid of dandruff too because of it helps in reducing the overactive fungi that are the root cause of dandruffs. Take 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of baking soda and a bowl of apple cider vinegar, mix them all together in a bowl and apply it on your scalp. Leave it for about 10 minutes and wash your hair with water. You can use apple cider vinegar as a conditioner for that extra shine.
Mouth Wash

Yes, we are not kidding, mouthwashes are great in getting rid of dandruffs as they consist of antifungal properties which fight the dandruff causing yeast and prevent its growth. Take 1 tablespoon of mouthwash and mix it with 9 tablespoons water. Wash your hair with regular shampoo and then apply the mouthwash mixture on your hair. Leave it on for 1 hour and then wash it away. Repeat it once every week to get best results.
Neem and Olive Oil

Neem leaves have great anti-fungal properties which can be used for the treatment of dandruff. You can boil a few neem leaves and make a paste out of it and then pour in some olive oil. Mix it well and apply it on your scalp. Leave it on for half an hour and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Or, you can take a few dried neem leaves and crush them to make a powder, mix oil with it and apply that paste on your scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes, wash it off with water and shampoo and condition your hair after it.
Aloe Vera Gel

Not only is aloe vera cooling but also mildly exfoliates the skin and has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Apply fresh aloe vera gel, leave it on for a while or until it gets dry, rub and massage it on the scalp. Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat dry!
